Enterprise-Class Email

Part of our strategy for offering better customer service is the administration of our own on-site servers. In addition to a number of web servers we manage our own mail servers and licence both IceWarp and SmarterMail. These Microsoft Exchange-level servers come equipped with many powerful features such as webmail, instant messaging, WebDocuments, collaboration, video and audio chat and advanced antispam all with web-based administration.

Premium Web Hosting

At SynergyPro Solutions we manage our own on-site servers. Our secure location sits on the main Hamilton fibre-optic trunk and our redundant servers are housed in a climate-controlled server room with backup generators and 24/7 monitoring. The main advantages to managing our own web and mail servers are two-fold. First, we control the technology. We upgrade all our servers every two years, we update our software as often as we can and any additional server software or patches we need can be installed when we need them. Secondly, we control how many websites are served from each box and will only serve as many websites as each server recommends. Many virtual web hosts will pack many times the number of recommended sites on each server, in the hopes that only a small percentage of those sites will ever be accessed at one time. We don’t play those games and can therefore guarantee more up-time and quicker speeds than our competitors.

Our website packages come with premium web hosting and a number of email accounts depending on your needs.

Jordan Cast & Wicker Responsive Design

Responsive Website

Due to the rapid proliferation of mobile devices over the last few years, web design firms are finding unique ways to design for all devices, using ‘fluid’ frameworks such as Bootstrap as a base. Fluid simply means that the website elements adapt and re-size based on the resolution of a user's device. Translation: your website will look great on a smart phone, a tablet or a desktop monitor. No longer do we recommend designing separate sites for each device. Some companies have a desktop website and a mobile website, and the obvious disadvantage to this model is that each version needs to be updated separately, amounting to at least twice the work.

Not only has responsive design changed the way we manage content, it has also changed the look of many sites. When viewing responsive sites on a desktop monitor they tend to be wider, have bigger elements, larger sections, full-screen graphics, and much nicer fonts and text treatments. When these same sites are viewed on mobile devices they tend to be simpler: as less important elements are dropped, larger images are swapped for smaller versions, and text-size is reduced so as not to seem over-sized on smaller screens. We also take into account bandwidth limitations on smartphone data plans, etc.

Ecommerce Made Easy
Data Feeds

Data Feeds

What do we mean by data feeds and why would you need one? If you’ve heard the term RSS Feed and understand the concept, a data feed is essentially the same thing. It’s a one-time or regular service, that we manage on your behalf. In short, it is a transfer of data from one database to another, either through a network or over the internet.

Data feeds are very popular in industries that advertise products on multiple websites, like the Automotive or RV industries. Our inventory management system allows dealers to manage and upload their inventory to their own websites, while our data feeds then send their data, in the right format, to as many other sites as they require. Classified sites like RVHotline.com, Kijiji, AutoTrader and RVT.com are just a few of the sites we’ve built feeds to.

Another reason to use a data feed would be the transfer of large amounts of data from one website database to another, in the case of a website redesign or upgrade. Blogs or ecommerce sites can contain a great deal of content, making manual transfers impractical. We can develop data feeds that transfer all the data from one database to another, from one provider to another, or from one website to another.

Content Management Systems

Content Management Systems

A content management system, or CMS, sounds technical but is really just software for uploading and managing the content on a website. We have been designing and developing these systems for over a decade now and have recently released our latest CMS which we call “focus”. We have taken a modular approach to focus, allowing our clients to pick and choose from a growing number of database-driven modules for uploading, organizing and editing content. Slider managers, inventory managers, page builders and many more.

We have also built in a number of marketing support modules as well, like an email marketing module, a CRM for managing leads, a telephone voice recording system, an online chat module, and we are building new modules regularly.

Other types of content management systems we’ve developed include variations on CRM, or customer relationship management. Companies use these tools to manage client interactions by optimizing and systematizing relationships, or to manage their sales teams by organizing calls and followups to optimize impact on large sales territories.

WordPress Logo

Wordpress

Although we develop our own content management systems here at Synergy, we often get requests to design sites in Wordpress. The client may already be comfortable using Wordpress or their current site may be built on Wordpress, making the transition to a new Wordpress site somewhat easier. We can help you choose one of thousands of pre-designed themes from the Wordpress community, or we can build you a custom theme depending on your budget, timeline and technical requirements.

Our Wordpress themes are responsive, which means they automatically adapt to any screen resolution or device, we pay close attention to performance issues as Wordpress tends to be somewhat bulky, and we optimize projects for search engines based on the package you choose. Widgets and third party add-ons are also available to our Wordpress clients, allowing our team to build your company very robust and feature-heavy sites quickly.

SEO

SEO/SEM

Search engine optimization has been a growing concern for companies for years now. Most know what it is, but haven’t had much success. Google and the other major search engines are getting very good at determining what your website is all about, so much so that those traditional techniques for keyterm ranking are no longer critical. No longer is keyterm density or placement important, there is no longer a formula for combining meta tags, titles and headings that will get you to number one. It’s now far more important to publish useful information, original photos and video, become the authority on your product or service. And then build relationships with other websites in your space because if popular websites are linking to your content you will be recognized as an authority - and that is now what search engines are looking for.

SEM, or search engine marketing, is also gaining popularity. Not only a game for larger brands, more and more smaller companies are now taking advantage of paid advertising - PPC campaigning, retargeting and social media advertising. Reasons for the popularity are: 1) smaller businesses are finding it increasingly hard to rank organically for many keyterms, so paid ads allow them to be at the top of the listings. 2) with the pay-per-click model that most advertising providers are using, budgeting and paying only for actual visits makes PPC both cost-effective and highly measurable.

Of all the services we provide, SEO/SEM is the one that companies always struggle with. Let our SEO and marketing experts take all the ‘struggle’ out of it. We can cut through the nonsense and explain the essence of online marketing to you, and together we’ll devise a plan that not only makes financial sense to you, but we can assist in tracking your customers from one end of the equation to the other, from finding your website on the internet to buying your product or service.

Social Media

Many clients ask us about social media, and the number one question is "Do we need to participate to be successful online?" To properly manage content and launch effectual campaigns on Facebook, Twitter or any of the thousands of other social networking websites you need two ingredients: knowledge and resources.

If you understand how social websites work or have used one in your personal life, we can help train you to use it to your business advantage. Likewise, if you are willing to devote company resources to using social networks, our team will help set your business up on the network(s) best suited to your goals, and then train and support your staff in the fundamentals of social media.

Social media is here to stay, and companies are quickly figuring out how to use these social sites to advance their online goals. The older generations are not as quick to adopt this technology but we always remind them that social networks are just another advertising vehicle. They are the evolution of two-way advertising, and allow businesses to interact with their customers in a way that wasn’t possible 5 years ago.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics

As the internet’s most popular tracking and data analysis tool, Google Analytics is installed on 10 to 15 million websites worldwide. Our websites are no exception. As a standard feature in all our website packages, we install Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools by default. It is an extremely powerful tool and we recommend that all our clients use their accounts to familiarize themselves with their ongoing website statistics.

Once your new website is launched, we will teach you what the essential statistics are and set up a custom report which will be emailed to you every month. Additionally we can setup Goals for monitoring things like traffic benchmarks, monthly dollar values in sales if you have an ecommerce site, number of downloaded PDFs or any other user conversions you want to monitor.

Another standard service we provide with our website packages is a quarterly or seaonal review of your analytics and webmaster tool statistics to help you recognize your site’s strengths and weaknesses. We can then develop new goals and a plan to achieve them for the next period.

Conversion Management

Conversion Management

Conversion management is the process of ensuring that each and every visitor to your website converts into a customer. Although converting every visitor into a customer is unlikely, you can measure your conversion rate and work to increase it over time.

To measure conversions you first need to define what a conversion is for your business. Convincing a website visitor to call your toll-free number, or schedule an appointment through a form, or sign up for a free trial are all considered conversions. In fact, a conversion can be any interaction between a user and your website that results in generating a lead for your sales team. Our CMS allows business owners to track every type of website conversion, including phone calls, online chat and form submissions.

To subsequently calculate your online conversion rate divide monthly conversions by unique visitors. As a general rule, if you are converting 10% of your traffic you are doing very well. So, through the use of Google Analytics, your CMS and our marketing and design team we should be able to increase your conversion rate over time to ultimately increase revenue.

In addition we can help you with your rate of offline conversion, that is the number of sales achieved through closing your website leads. Your sales team, if they aren’t already, should be diligently using a CRM. Briefly discussed above, a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) allows your sales team to enter, follow up with, track and analyse customers and final sales. As each website conversion is entered into the CRM as a new customer, it should be flagged as a website lead, so that at any point you’ll know what percentage of website visitors are converting and then buying products or services.

Our marketing and creative teams are experts in conversion management so talk to us today about increasing your online conversions.

Print & Logo Design

Print / Logo Design

As digital designers, developers and marketing professionals, designing a company’s identity and any and all subsequent print collateral is something we are very good at. For us, graphic design is core to our business, a natural extension of our creative brains. Web design and development is our focus, but so much of developing a website is designing, from initial wireframe drawings to polished digital compositions. But our seasoned designers are always poised to break out of the confines of designing for screen, and love to spread their wings and take on a logo or a billboard, a t-shirt or a magazine ad.

Over the years we have worked with a number of popular brands. You’ve seen our billboards all over the Greater Toronto area. You may have seen a tradeshow booth or a magazine that we’ve done. We aren’t designing for fortune 500 companies (yet), but we’re pretty good. Whatever your print, web or video needs, as a business it is important to maintain the design integrity of your identity, your brand. And in our opinion there really is no better way to do that than to have one firm handle all your advertising and marketing designs.

Animation & Motion Graphics

Animation / Motion Graphics

Nearly 20 years ago a web technology hit the internet and changed it radically - that technology was Shockwave, and the program was Flash. With Flash you could design flat, vector-based graphics and animations and Shockwave was the compression algorithm that allowed it to stream through your browser. From then on animation was the norm, and to this day animation and video are standard tools for gamers, advertisers and businesses.

If you think animation or video is the way to illustrate your point online, our designers can create those outstanding presentations. Fullscreen video backgrounds are popular on blogs and potfolio websites, scroll-activated layers in HTML5 animate text treatments, illustrations and infographics, and hand drawn whiteboard animation videos are excellent for short stories and 60 second infomercials.

Animation and video is also very popular in the world of edtech (education technology). SynergyPro Solutions, in partnership with other firms, has developed a number of learning and survey applications. Educational webpages, videos and animated components that students watch and interact with. These applications can be built over databases so that students can be tested and evaluated. Human resource departments love these applications for employee training and for performance reviews. Animation and video makes the ‘learning’ components much more engaging.

Video Production

We’ve brought it up before, and we’ll say it again, video is not only going to be the most popular medium online for the next few years, it is the most engaging and will help you convert more visitors than any other type of content. Video is so popular that YouTube.com is the second most visited search engine in the world. So follow our advice and start planning a video campaign now. And if you are stuck for ideas, we can help.

Once again our creative team will sit with you and devise an action plan for using video on your website, in your store or dealership, or for TV or presentational purposes. We’ll storyboard it, shoot it, hire the talent if required, edit and produce it, and then we’ll help you deliver it to your audience. It’s that simple. Oh, you will need a budget, because video takes time, talent and a good deal of effort to produce. But the return is immeasurable.

Once you’ve produced a video, you can broadcast it in many places thanks to social media, e.g., on your YouTube channel, on Facebook, link to it from Twitter, and of course on your own website. And if it goes viral, whoa! You can get so much attention from it that it could change your business overnight - such is the power of video over the masses!

Contact us soon and together we'll brainstorm how to make video work for your business.
